Real Beauty

God told Samuel to look past the external features he saw in Jesse's oldest son. Instead, God reminded Samuel that he looks at the heart of a person. But we seem obsessed with outward appearances. Here's a link to a site I've found very interesting. It might even be helpful as we help our teenage girls better understand what true beauty really is. The video really hits home about how distorted our view of beauty just might be. Thanks to Mary Beth for the link.

I saw that a while back. I made sure that Amanda saw it. The funny thing is that (and I think most guys will back me up on this) we like it when our wives/girlfriends/hot plutonic make-out buddies look like THEMSELVES. I don't know about you, but I love the way my wife looks without make-up. That other stuff is for other people...society...who knows? It ain't for me. I'll never not think my wife is the most beautiful person in the world. Men are truly attracted to CONFIDENCE. Or threatened by it, but that's their problem.

Yeah, I actually used that video in the junior high girls Bible study last month. They were really shocked by all that the people do to change models. I hope it made a difference!
